The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) approved Minnesota's request to waive SNAP application and recertification interviews. Beginning January 2, 2024, residents will no longer need to complete an interview when applying for SNAP benefits. Verification policies remain the same. Residents may be contacted to clarify information that is unclear on the application, or to resolve conflicting information.
Interviews for SNAP recertifications have been on pause since June 2023.
This waiver is in effect through April 30, 2024.
Residents can apply online at MNbenefits or call 612-596-1300 during business hours.
