Keep your health insurance

Standard federal procedures call for your health insurance eligibility to be renewed annually. Minnesota is restarting renewal processes. Here’s what to expect and what you can do. 

  • Update your contact information. Make sure to let us know if your address has changed. Visit Hennepin County at hennepin.us/health-care-assistance or call our Member Services at 612-596-1036, TTY 711. If you have MinnesotaCare, contact Health Care Consumer Support at 651-297-3862 or 800-657-3672.
  • Watch for information about how to keep your Medical Assistance or MinnesotaCare. When it’s your time to renew, the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) will mail you a notice and a packet with instructions. Make sure to reply on time.
  • Be prepared. Prepare to renew by visiting mn.gov/dhs/renewmycoverage. Get your questions answered and know when to expect your eligibility renewal.
