Credentialing and recredentialing

We evaluate and select practitioners and facilities/organizations for participation in our network. We look for providers who give our members comprehensive, safe, effective, efficient, quality care by assessing their background, credentials and qualifications.

Our credentialing follows state and federal regulations and requirements, and standards set by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Actions related to acceptance, denial, discipline and termination for a practitioner or facility/organization are governed by the Hennepin Health Credentialing Committee.

Please note that submitting a credentialing application is NOT a contract to join our network. We do not assign retroactive credentialing dates. If you provide services to our members before you are credentialed or contracted, the claim may be denied, rejected or processed as out of network.

For complete information, refer to the Provider Manual.
